Accessibility
Last updated 26 October 2026
The short version. We want PlebMoe to work for everyone, whatever tools they use to browse. We work to WCAG 2.1 level AA, we know where we fall short, and if something is in your way we will fix it — email nick@plebmoe.com.
Our commitment
PlebMoe is committed to making plebmoe.com accessible to people with disabilities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or who need reduced motion. Accessibility is part of how the site is built, not a layer added afterwards.
The standard we work to
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 define three levels of conformance. PlebMoe aims for level AA. Our current status is partially conformant: most of the site meets AA, and the exceptions we know about are listed below.
What we do
- semantic HTML with one main landmark, real headings and labelled form fields
- everything reachable and operable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline
- text that can be resized to 200% and reflowed on a phone without loss
- colour contrast that meets or exceeds the WCAG AA ratio for text, and information never carried by colour alone
- alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative ones hidden from assistive technology
- respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting
- plain language, short sentences, and no time limits on reading or completing a form
Known limitations
We know about the following and are working on them:
- The front page is an animated WebGL portal inside a frame. Its content cards and forms are ordinary HTML and work with a keyboard and a screen reader, but the animated background has no text alternative and the journey between stages is visual. Every form on the portal is also reachable from the dashboard, and the site honours the operating-system reduce-motion setting where the browser reports it.
- Some small captions inside the portal frame use orange on dark backgrounds that may fall below the AA contrast ratio. We are reviewing them.
- Dialogs inside the portal frame do not yet trap keyboard focus reliably in every browser.
Tell us what is in your way
If you cannot access something on this site, or you need it in another format, email nick@plebmoe.comwith the page address and what happened. A person reads that inbox and replies, and we treat an accessibility barrier as a bug to fix, not a request to file. If you are not satisfied with our answer, say so in your reply and it will be escalated to the site’s owner.
Compatibility
The site is built to work with current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop and mobile, and with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA and TalkBack. It relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA; a browser with JavaScript disabled can still read every page, though interactive features will not run.
How we checked
This statement is based on our own evaluation: automated checks in the browser, and manual testing with a keyboard and a screen reader on the main journeys. It was last reviewed on 26 October 2026. We review it again whenever the site changes substantially, and at least once a year.
